Your perfect break in the Calvados countryside

The Lodge at Chateau de Surosne is our new French jewel.  We have been offering exclusive group breaks since 2004 in our houses in the Cotswolds, but have now settled in France and aim to bring to you the same fabulous experience across the water.

Perfectly situated in the grounds of a pretty chateau, this totally refurbished, historic detached house sleeps up to 10 in 4 bedrooms (one on mezzanine floor).  Just a short walk or 5 minute drive from the beautiful town of Clecy, you are invited to enjoy the peace and beauty of the area but as  Swiss Normandy is known for its exciting sporting facilities, you can try your hand at something different; paragliding, rock climbing, river sports or simply hike or ride through the stunning scenery.  The historic D Day beaches are 40 minutes away and there are landmark towns to explore such as Deauville with its boardwalks and art deco architecture, Bayeux with its tapestry, or stay local for a flavour of the real France.

Whatever you decide, The Lodge is the perfect getaway.  Less than 50 minutes from the ferry at Caen, we offer complete comfort with a large lounging area, dining for the whole group, a fully equipped kitchen, private parking, sun terraces and great wifi.

Our summers are hotter, our wine is fantastic and the beautiful river Orne is just a short walk away.  Perfect for family getaways, sporty groups or celebration breaks, the Lodge is the ideal retreat.
